Hello, we’re Last Mile Heat

We’re one of Great Britain’s leading low-carbon heat suppliers.
We’re here to increase access to renewable heating, using innovation to deliver heat in a way that’s better for the planet.

We’re really proud of our team’s track record in delivering ground source heat and managing essential utilities infrastructure that communities can rely on, now and in the future.

We are part of the Last Mile family, a group of companies that design, build, own and operate essential utilities infrastructure, giving people across Great Britain access to the heat, power, water and wastewater services they need, every day.

We have voluntarily signed up to work with the Heat Trust. This means we are committed to comply with the high standards they set for the heat network industry.

Heat Trust

The Heat Trust is an independent, non-profit organisation that champions heat network customers and holds suppliers to account for the benefit of everyone involved. They strive to make sure customers enjoy the benefits of heating systems by setting the standards they expect, making sure they’re treated fairly and working with suppliers to deliver high-quality customer service.

Ofgem

From January 2026, Heat Networks are regulated by Ofgem. Ofgem is the independent regulator responsible for keeping the energy market fair, competitive, transparent, and aligned with both consumer protection and environmental objectives.

While Ofgem does not handle individual customer complaints, it does:

  • Set consumer protection rules
  • Enforce regulatory standards
  • Ensure suppliers follow proper complaint-handling processes

Under the new framework, heat suppliers must comply with strengthened, consumer focused Standards of Conduct, which include requirements to:

  • Treat customers fairly
  • Provide clear, accurate, and accessible information
  • Maintain straightforward, accessible, and timely complaints procedures
